This moon is a privilege,
and tonight, it shines bright
through my window, through this
double-plated window;
this moon is a comfort
and universal sign,
religious in design;
as trusted as shelter,
as disciplined as law;
this moon is a reminder
that the world continues
with or without you.
I admire, and…
maybe I envy
that moon;
the distance
it exists in,
the perfect distance
from everything.
