I’ll wear the shirt

from my father’s funeral

at a reading tonight.

The one that sports

a Georgia G

on the chest.

My heart will beat

in rhythm to his

and we will celebrate together.

I’ll resurrect

the righteous urge

to breathe success into my life.

The fear

has washed away, and I

wish only to make him proud.
