Sometimes

 

I feel translucent,

 

like my skin

 

is milk and water;

 

 

I feel weightless,

 

like you are lifting the pain

 

from my bones.

 

 

 

Alyssa Cooper is a Canadian author, poet, and artist, currently living in Kingston, Ontario with her partner, two cats, and a Boston Terrier. She was first published in 2008, and has since authored three novels, a short story collection, and a poetry collection, as well as having had her short stories and poetry included in a number of magazines and journals, both Canadian and international. She is currently working on her fourth novel, titled Twisted, and her second poetry collection, titled Fevered Ramblings.
