Till I was well into my sixties, I always attracted suspicion. Not anymore. I can go anywhere, without fear of being remarked. On the subway, for instance, when the lights come back on, the pretty girl who’s just been groped will glare at everyone but me. I’m telling you this so you won’t blame yourself for joining me in here. Nobody notices an old man. That’s why you won’t be home for dinner.
