Daybreak’s a halo of gold brocade

flush with souls held in moon’s light,

spreading its sorrow upon human tissue,

Janell Moon is a San Francisco Bay poet and a hypnotherapist in private practice and served as the first poet laureate of the bayside city of Emeryville, CA from 2011-2013. She teaches creative writing at the College of Marin, San Francisco City College and SF Open House. She has twelve books of poetry and spiritual nonfiction books published since 1997.
