You succumb with all the yearning
of a man sacrificing himself to the ocean,
body clenched, eyes closed,
abandoning light and oxygen
so as to sink beneath the surface of my skin.
Rose-Anne Chabot was raised in Moose Factory, Ontario, and currently lives in Québec City, where she works as a translator (French to English). In addition to writing poetry and the occasional short story, she is learning to play the Celtic harp. Her poetry has appeared in Sassafras Literary Magazine and Room.
