He prided himself in being
Mr. Grace Under Fire
in control, cool, calm and collected
exhibiting clear judgment, even humor
while under abnormal stress
and then he found out
his brother’s renal carcinoma was spreading
like the plague from organ to organ
and might even have infested his brain
and he knew he must get to Florida asap
to say his goodbyes
because he’ll soon be gone forever
and his restrained façade went to hell
in a hand basket instantly.
